Discipline
The Discipline Committee is a hearings committee which can receive referrals from both the Complaints and Executive Committees of the College. Cases are referred to Discipline when the screening committee believes that there is no other recourse that would address the concerns that they have with regards to a therapist's conduct or competence. Discipline hearings are similar to court proceedings and are open to the public. At the conclusion of the hearing, if there has been a finding of guilt, the Committee will impose a penalty which may include some or all of the following: a reprimand, terms, conditions and limitations on the therapist's certificate of registration and/or, the suspension or revocation of a therapist's certificate of registration.
Information about upcoming hearings can be found under the "What's New" information of the About the College section. Summaries of previous hearings are listed below. A copy of the decision issued by the panel that reviewed the case can be obtained by contacting the Manager, Investigations & Resolutions.
