Professional Obligations
In accordance with the Guide to the Child & Family Services Act 2000 (January 2001) (PDF: 230Kb), occupational therapists are required to file a mandatory report with their local Children's Aid Society / Family and Children's Services office if they believe that a child is being abused is in need of protection. Although the reporting obligations are broad in nature, they include, but are not limited to the following: physical, sexual, or emotional abuse or neglect.
