To register with the College, an applicant must complete this application form: Submit the application form, with the applicable fee(s) (PDF: 16kb) and documentation, to the College office. The College has established detailed criteria for registration, in order to best protect the public interest and foster confidence in the competency of the profession.

Carefully review the Registration Application Form (PDF: 284kb) / Formulaire d'inscription (PDF: 195kb) to ensure that all applicable requirements have been adequately met and documented.

Please Note: Submitting an incomplete application form prior to meeting all registration requirements will initiate the application process. The applicant must remember to acknowledge all outstanding documents to be submitted. The application process can take up to 30 days to complete but this is a guideline only. Depending on the type of application, the time to process an application and issue a certificate of registration can be done quicker, for example, within one week for an applicant that has met all of the registration requirements at time of application.

If the applicant is a new graduate, all components of the occupational therapy degree, including final fieldwork placement, must be completed before the applicant can be considered for College registration. The College requires confirmation from the applicant's school that the applicant is eligible for graduation. If applying to the College prior to passing the CAOT exam, applicants may be eligible to apply for a Provisional Practising Certificate of Registration (PDF: 227kb).
