The College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) is pleased to announce the appointment of Gillian Slaughter as the new Registrar & CEO, effective September 8, 2025.
Following an extensive and competitive executive search process, Gillian was selected for her exceptional leadership experience, deep understanding of Ontario’s health regulatory landscape, and unwavering commitment to public protection and professional excellence.
She brings a wealth of experience from various regulatory bodies, including COTO, where she led transformative initiatives in regulatory governance, third-party engagement, and organizational modernization.
As Registrar and CEO, Gillian will lead the College in fulfilling its mandate to regulate the profession in the public interest, ensuring that Ontarians continue to receive safe, competent, and ethical care. Her vision for innovation, transparency, and collaboration will guide the College through its next chapter of strategic growth and regulatory excellence.
