7 Opportunities to Serve as a Non-Council Committee Member

The College is seeking OTs to serve as non-Council members for the following Committees:
 

Patient Relations Committee

The Patient Relations Committee develops and implements the Patient Relations Program. Core elements of this program include: development of Standards of Practice for registrants; education of the profession, Council and staff; provision of information to the public; and, administration of the Sexual Abuse Counselling Fund.
  • 2 positions available
  • One 3-year term and one 18-month term, both beginning June 2017
  • 4-6 full-day, in-person meetings per year
  • Clinical experience preferred

Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee (ICRC)

The Inquiries, Complaints & Reports Committee (ICRC) reviews concerns about a registrant's practice that have been brought to the attention of the College. 
  • 1 position available
  • 3-year term beginning June 2017
  • 6 full-day, in-person meetings per year (every other month)
  • Mental health experience preferred

Discipline Committee

The Discipline Committee considers allegations of professional misconduct or incompetence that are referred by the Inquiries, Complaints & Reports Committee (ICRC) for a hearing.
  • 1 position available
  • 3-year term beginning June 2017
  • 1-2 in-person meetings per year
  • May be required to sit on a Discipline panel to hear a case referred from the ICRC

Fitness to Practise Committee

The Fitness to Practise Committee holds hearings to determine if a registrant is physically or mentally incapacitated.
  • 1 position available
  • 3-year term beginning June 2017
  • 1-2 in-person meetings per year
  • May be required to sit on a Fitness to Practise panel to hear a case referred from the ICRC

Practice Issues Sub-Committee

The Practice Issues Sub-Committee develops and implements standards for practice and addresses current issues relevant to OT practise in Ontario.
  • 2 positions available
  • 3-year term beginning October 2017
  • 6 full-day in-person meetings per year (every other month)
  • Mental health and/or community care experience preferred

Expenses and Per Diem

Travel and accommodation expenses are covered by the College, and a per diem is paid for meeting attendance and preparation time.
