Recognizing the need for physical distancing during the pandemic, the Council meeting was held virtually.

Operational Status Report 2019-2020

Leadership Outcomes 2020-2023

The College’s 2020-2023 Leadership Outcomes were approved earlier this year and came into effect on June 1, 2020. The input of many, including the Citizen Advisory Group, informed development of the outcomes. Learn about the College mission, vision and leadership outcomes.

COVID-19 Impact to Registrants and Renewal

Activities to support occupational therapists and the delivery of safe care during the pandemic were discussed. View an overview of the College's COVID-19 response to date.

Council expressed their concern and compassion towards occupational therapists who have been unduly affected by financial hardship. The registration renewal period has been extended by three months and the option for payment by installment has been provided. Read about renewal options.

Quality Assurance Program Development

Council approved the College’s new competency assessment process for occupational therapists. As part of the College Quality Assurance (QA) program, the new process aims to better identify occupational therapists with gaps in competence through risk-based selection, in order to provide targeted remediation and support safe client care and public protection. Updates on implementation of the new process will be posted on the College website as they become available. Learn more about the College’s QA program.

Standards for Acupuncture

The revised Standards for Acupuncture were approved and will be released later this year. Until the release, the Standards for Acupuncture, 2009 remain in effect and are available online under Standards & Resources.
