Coming Soon: Pilot of New QA Screening Tool

The College’s Quality Assurance (QA) Program continues to evolve as we strive to enhance the program. One important part of the QA Program is Competency Assessment, where registrants get meaningful feedback and tools to help them make any needed practice improvements.

The College’s new Competency Assessment process has 3 steps:

Step 1: Risk Based Selection. This was launched during the 2020-2021 registration year.

Step 2: Screening of Selected Registrants. This is being piloted in September and the pilot will include both Step 2 and 3.

Step 3: Peer and Practice Assessment.

What does this mean for registrants?

  • Later in August, 110 registrants will be selected (using Step 1) and will be notified that they will participate in the pilot of the new screening tool.
  • In September, those registrants will receive additional information about Step 2, which will be completed online and is expected to take 1-2 hours.
  • All 110 selected registrants will also participate in Step 3.

We continue to appreciate the feedback from registrants about the process as we improve our program to better support registrants in the delivery of safe, ethical, and competent care.

In the coming months we will be updating our website with more information about these steps.
