On August 18, 2022, the Government of Ontario introduced its "Plan to Stay Open: Health System Stability and Recovery."
The plan hires up to 6,000 additional health care workers, frees up 2,500 more hospital beds and temporarily covers cost of examination, application and registration fees for retired and internationally trained nurses.
