Ontario's Chief Medical Officer of Health Strongly Recommends Masking in Indoor Spaces

On November 14, 2022, Ontario's Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) strongly recommended that residents of Ontario wear masks in indoor spaces in order to protect vulnerable people, including children, from respiratory viruses.

The CMOH also acknowledged a large influx of admissions to children's hospitals in recent weeks, which has contributed to a significant strain on the health system.

Although no mask mandate is currently in place, the CMOH is encouraging everyone to wear masks in all indoor public settings.

The College will continue to monitor advice and recommendations from the CMOH and will share any additional information on our website and social media channels.
