Additional Opportunity: Seeking 2 OTs for Appointment to College Subcommittees

The College is seeking:

  • 1 occupational therapist to serve on the Quality Assurance Subcommittee
  • 1 occupational therapist to serve on the Practice Subcommittee

These two subcommittee opportunities are in addition to the opportunity for Committee appointments posted on December 8, 2022.

We invite you to apply to the College for appointment to a committee. Each appointment is for a 3-year term. In your expression of interest, please indicate your preferred committee or committees. Resumes are kept on file for one year. If you are not appointed with this call, you may be contacted for a future opportunity.

At this time, there are opportunities on the following two subcommittees:

Quality Assurance Subcommittee: provides recommendations to the Quality Assurance Committee on the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the components of the Quality Assurance Program.

Practice Subcommittee: explores, debates and provides recommendations on current occupational therapy practice issues relevant to the mandate of the College. Key roles involve helping to update, revise, and develop practice documents for occupational therapists. There are also opportunities to provide feedback on practice program initiatives. 

The Practice Sub-Committee is currently seeking an occupational therapist who has worked in one of the following settings for the last 5 years:

Community practice/direct service to clients in the areas of:

  • mental health,
  • medical legal/auto insurance,
  • long term care, or
  • psychotherapy.

All candidates are to:

  • Be currently registered with the College.
  • Not be currently serving on the Board, Panels, or any other role in the College.
  • Understand the role and mandate of the College.
  • Have access to a secure and reliable internet connection that is not publicly accessible.
  • Meet the eligibility criteria as per the Policy on the Approval of Supervisors and Other Agents of the College.

Additionally, the College considers:

  • Geographic location to try and balance district representation.
  • Experience with virtual procedures, including interfacing with technology to attend meetings and review documents.
  • Experience with committees, group work, and collaboration.
  • Experience writing guidelines and/or educational materials.

Term and time commitment:

  • Registrants may be appointed for a maximum of two three-year terms.
  • Committee meetings are held during business hours, virtually or in-person, and appointees must be available to participate.
  • Meeting frequency and preparation time varies. View additional information about each committee.
