On July 20, 2023, the Government of Ontario approved the regulations under the Psychology and Applied Behaviour Analysis Act, 2021,
for the profession of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). These regulations give the College of Psychologists of Ontario the authority to oversee the practice of Applied Behavioural Analysis.
The Psychology and Applied Behaviour Analysis Act will be effective July 1, 2024.
COTO has been closely monitoring this legislation and will provide further direction and information on how this will impact occupational therapists.
