The Board participated in a detailed orientation with an overview of statutory programs and College Committees as well as an update on cybersecurity. Board Directors learned about work being done by each Committee of the College and their work plans for the 2026-2027 College year.

Code of Ethics Consultation
The Board approved the proposed Code of Ethics, 2026 and the Guide to Ethical Practice.
The revised Code of Ethics integrates the ACOTRO National Code of Ethics Template and the Competencies for Occupational Therapists in Canada, 2021; reflecting the College’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and addressing emerging ethical considerations related to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
The Code and Guide will be posted on the COTO website this summer. Until then, the Code of Ethics 2020 remains in effect.

Operating Budget
The 2026-2027 Annual Operating Budget was approved as presented by the Finance and Audit Committee.
Committee Appointments and Reappointments
Public Director Appointments
The Board ratified the appointments of public Board Directors Vincent Samuel and Bibi Azim to their respective Committees.
Academic Appointment
The Board appointed Dr. Mary Forhan as the Academic Representative on the Board.
The academic representative is selected from faculty involved in occupational therapy education at Ontario and recommended by the five occupational therapy program Chairs.
Committee Reappointments
The Board reappointed the following Committee members: Kellen Baldock, Sylvia Boddener, Casandra Boushey, Bethany Brewin, Greg Clarke, Sarah Dodds, Jennifer Henderson, Heather Jones, Amanda Mowbray, and Peter Shenfield.
Recognition of Outgoing Board Directors
The Board recognized the contributions of outgoing Board directors Mary Egan and Lucy Kloosterhuis. Outgoing Academic Director Mary Egan was recognized for her 10 years of service to the Board. Public Director Lucy Kloosterhuis was thanked for her contributions to the Board and several committees.
