Announcement on Mask Mandates

On March 9, 2022, the Chief Medical Officer of Health announced that mask mandates would be lifted in most public spaces in Ontario on March 21, 2022.

According to the Ministry of Health technical brief, this guidance does not apply to high-risk settings including hospitals, long-term care and other health care settings.

Occupational therapists working in private practice and community settings should continue to follow the Ministry of Health's COVID-19 Guidance: Primary Care Providers in a Community Setting and use clinical and professional judgement (for example, carrying out point of care risk assessments, adapting services to minimize risks to clients and self, and follow infection prevention and control practices).

Effective March 14, 2022, Ontario's Chief Medical Officer of Health will revoke Directive #6 regarding COVID-19 vaccination and testing policies in high-risk health care settings, including; public hospitals and home and community care settings.
