The College is very excited to share this year’s Prescribed Regulatory Education Program (PREP) with you. For the first time, the PREP is a national module developed for occupational therapists across Canada.

The National eLearning Module on the Competencies for Occupational Therapists in Canada is now available in MyQA. It is the College’s PREP for 2022.

This eLearning module will help prepare and educate you about the new Competencies for Occupational Therapists in Canada. It was developed with the Association of Canadian Occupational Therapy Regulatory Organizations (ACOTRO) in partnership with occupational therapy regulators across the country.

Tips for the 2022 National eLearning Module

  • Review the 2021 Competencies document: have a copy of the  Competency document available to reference throughout the module.
  • Use the reflection worksheet: the worksheet is a fillable PDF you can download from the module. Track your learnings while working through the module.
  • Allocate 1.5 hours: you might need about 1.5 hours to complete the module.
  • Ensure you have a strong and consistent internet connection: you can complete the module on different devices (for example: smart phone, tablet), but you may have the best experience using a desktop or laptop computer.

  • Save your progress: you may want or need to complete the module in more than one sitting. If you step away from your computer, your session may time-out, so be sure to logout. Before you exit, make sure you click the logout button. When you return, log back in to continue. This will help ensure your work is saved!

  • Consider using the closed captioning feature: if you prefer having the voice-over match the text on the screen, closed captioning may support your learning needs.

  • Review the PDF version if you like: If you choose to review the PDF version to supplement your learning or for ease, you are still required to complete the online module. Consider setting aside extra time if you choose to review both versions.

  • Ensure a completed status: after you complete the module, check the PREP box in MyQA to ensure that you see a green dot and the word “completed.”

  • Complete the evaluation survey: after you have completed the module, remember to complete the anonymous evaluation survey: 2022 National eLearning Module Survey. Please provide us with your feedback so we can continue to improve.
