The College Standards for the Supervision of Support Personnel have been updated. Thank you for your feedback!
To reflect current practice, the Standards have been renamed the
Standards for the Supervision of Occupational Therapist Assistants and will replace the Standards for the Supervision of Support Personnel effective June 1, 2018.
In the revised Standard, you will find:
- Updated information about the accountabilities of occupational therapists (OTs) supervising occupational therapist assistants (OTAs)
- Amendments to the activities that cannot be assigned to an OTA
- Additional clarification for OTs who are providing consultation and recommendations to others
- Clarification of expectations for a communication and supervision plan with OTAs
- Updated OTA assignment decision tree
