As of Right rules

The Ontario government recently published guidance regarding the As of Right rules that came into effect on July 24, 2023. As of Right rules allow physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists and medical laboratory technologists registered in other Canadian provinces and territories who meet specific conditions to immediately start working in hospitals and long-term care homes in Ontario, without having to first register with one of the province’s health regulatory colleges. These changes are intended to help healthcare workers begin caring for Ontarians sooner.

As of Right rules do not impact the registration of occupational therapists.
