August 2021: Masking requirements when fully vaccinated

QuestionIf an occupational therapist and their client are fully vaccinated are masks still required?

Answer: Yes, at this time, public health measures such as masking and distancing when outside our homes remain in place. Until this changes, or new guidance is released, it is recommended that all occupational therapists remain masked when with clients, regardless of vaccination status.

The College is monitoring and awaiting more information from the Ministry of Health on how being a fully vaccinated health care provider may change service delivery to other vaccinated persons. We will share this guidance as soon as it is released.

Our Practice team is here to help.
